Palazzo Tommasi Description
Located in Cortona, Tuscany, Palazzo Tommasi is a luxury b&b with two lavish suites set in fully restored 16th-century noble mansion. Important artists from Cortona such as Luca Signorelli (Michelangelo’s precursor) and architect Pietro Berrettini contributed to the palazzo with frescoes attributing to the dreams, follies and symbols of the nobility of the past.
This charming hotel is located in the medieval core of Cortona set within the old Etruscan town walls. The town -once ruled by the Medici family- is set on a hill overlooking the Valdichiana and Lake Trasimeno. Should you like to explore Tuscany and Umbria's other treats, the Palazzo Tommasi is close to Florence, Siena, Rome, Forte dei Marmi, international airports, wineries, spa's and cultural escapes.
The elegant suites come with loads of authentic beauty, arts and antiques (which can be puchased with world-wide shipping). Room facilities include a flat-screen TV, computer, coffee machine and private bathroom with slippers, a hairdryer and complimentary toiletries. The Suite "Principessa" has a bathroom finished in a rare "golden onyx" marble giving an unparalleled and precious glow. The Suite "Signorelli" has a free standing marble bathtub and a 16th century "scrivania" (secretary/desk) which once belonged to the Grand Duke of Tuscany. Both suites overlook Piazza Signorelli and the beautiful Etruscan MAEC Museum.
