Casa do Rio Vez is a contemporary renovated mill house beside the crystalline waters of the river Vez in Portugal’s northernmost, verdant green Minho region. Here trout and otters stir amongst the eddies and herons stand motionless amidst mottled shadows on its grassy banks. Simply do nothing and rest in absolute modern comfort where you sence the owner’s (an architect) eye for style and detail.
Accomodations are spread between four double guestrooms of the main house and one freestanding loft. All rooms have windows over the river, airconditioning and central heating, private bathroom, TV, DVD, WiFi, coffee- and tea making facilities, hairdryer and toiletries. The self-catering loft (breakfast provided) sleeps up to 4: 2 on the mezzanine (double or twin beds) and 2 on the sleeper couches.
The wonderful, contemporary styled, garden leads down to the river Vez and houses an olive-oil press from 1886 and beautiful swimming pool.
Relax on the comfortable sofa’s in the communal lounge with its 8.50 metre high ceilings which offers a fire place, internet corner and library. Here, a healthy breakfast to kick-start the day is served (included in the rate).
