A special place in enchanting nature between forests, olive groves, and fruit orchards, Tenuta di Canonica is a charming and elegant hotel set in an ancient watch tower on top of a hill overlooking the medieval town of Todi. It is located in the green heart of Umbria on the border of Tuscany, not far from Rome, the Tiber Valley and the Corbara Lake. A perfect location from which to explore all the art towns of central Italy.
Eight rooms and three junior suites are located in the main building, a place where the ancient Roman walls bear testimony to Tenuta’s history and culture. Room facilities include air conditioning, a telephone, a minibar and a safe. Private bathrooms have a hairdryer. Two junior suites on the ground floor, in the garden, have a kitchenette and 2 separated rooms. They are located next to the swimming pool and have a separate entrance, and a private portico with wonderful view on Todi hill.
Start your day with a rich breakfast buffet, complete with freshly baked bread and cakes, cold cuts, homemade jam, fresh fruit and a selection of local cheeses. At dinner, the restaurant serves regional Umbrian and Italian dishes. Everything is home made from fresh, local and biological ingredients. In warm weather, meals can be enjoyed outside on the panoramic terrace. Before dinner enjoy an aperitif, cocktail or glass of Umbrian wine.
The Tenuta is surrounded by 22 hectares of forest, endless green fields, and more than 2000 olive and fruit trees, and – last but not least – an abundant garden with a pool overlooking the entire Tiber valley. Inside, you will find a cosy lounge, a small library, and a conference room.
